Laraine Gordon

Laraine Gordon is a Registered Licensed Clinical Social Worker, LCSW-R in the state of New York. Laraine has worked as a psychotherapist and hospice medical social worker over the last 22 years and provides psychotherapy for individuals, teens, and families. Laraine holds a Master’s Degree in Social Work, graduating from Stonybrook University magna cum laude. Laraine’s style is solution-focused, empathic, highly engaged, and sometimes humorous. Evidence-based therapies that draw from psychodynamic, cognitive-behavioral, and experiential techniques inform her practice.

Laraine’s clinical experience includes East End Hospice where she worked as a medical social worker. For the last 22 years, Laraine has operated a private practice with a primary specialization in grief and addictions for both adolescents and adults, where she resides in Southampton, NY.

In April of 2007, Laraine established a not-for-profit organization called Time for Teens, Inc. Time for Teens is an innovative 501c3 charity program providing bereaved teens and their families with an annual retreat as well as counseling and scholarships throughout the year. As of 2019, TFT is in its 13th successful year of programming. Laraine is the Founder and Executive Director of Time for Teens.

Laraine has spent the last 22 years presenting workshops to both small and large audiences in and out of the United States, discussing her expertise in the area of adolescents, grief, addictions, and various topics Laraine was invited and presented as a national guest speaker in California at the Annual National Bereavement Camp Conference run by The Moyer Foundation.

In October of 2017, Laraine, with the assist of doTERRA ’s Healing Hands Foundation, initiated and completed a humanitarian mission trip in Rincon Puerto Rico where she and a team of volunteers rebuilt a playground at an orphanage. The playground was devastated during Hurricane Maria and Laraine set her sights on helping the community with clothes, first aid supplies, wellness kits, and a newly rebuilt playground for the children. The project was completed by March 2018

Laraine utilizes experiential techniques to create connections when working with groups of any population. Experiential techniques combined with creative expression result in resiliency and connected relationships in the adolescent as well as adult population the specific developmental needs of adolescents make grief and loss particularly devastating for their ongoing psychological and emotional health.
